Mia recently turned 2, so I decided it was about time that we got out the cookie cutters and delve into her artistic talent. That talent being the art of eating cookies. It's Valentine's time and my hubby is a cookie-aholic. My thought is to butter him up with some delish sugar cookies with almond icing to put him a mood to treat me wonderfully next week on the big V day. He is the most amazing cook, and I am really hoping I get the steak filet topped with a crab gorgonzola sauce once again!

It's all in the Icing
Mia stayed pretty busy during the whole process. The floor apparently needed about 2 cups of flour smothered on it. The kitchen drawers also were lacking something - oh say, icing smeared on the handles. And what better way to remember this experience than food colored icing handprints on the white kitchen cabinents. I'm sure her dad will enjoy her artistic flavor when he gets home and sees what she painted for him. She did finally contain herself to play with the heart cutouts. She called the big heart the "mommy heart" and the small heart the "daddy heart". Hmmm. Should I be offended that she thinks the big, fat one is mommy? I think I will chose to believe it is because I am so loving. That sounds much better.
It was a fun experience that I am sure we will repeat. However, next time I may just drape a painter's drop cloth down in my kitchen. Now lets eat!
